Today marks five months as a vegan.
May has been a really intense month. I hit my first two weight loss goals with in a couple weeks of each other. One being that I can now fit into an XL shirt. Which at first sounded like a dumb goal but it still feels good. And second being that I am officially down 100lbs. Which came way sooner than expected. I assumed it would take over a year, I thought I was crazy for pushing to get it done in a year. But I got it done in five months. I don’t feel like I did it in an unhealthy manner, I ate well and at times, I felt like I was eating like crap (vegan sweets in place of actual meals). And with the start of this new job I was missing out on some valuable gym time, so I don’t think I was obsessively working out and hurting myself. The only thing that really changed was getting a bike and riding regularly. At least four days a week, riding any where between six and twenty miles.
It’s overwhelming some days to watch my body change and think about where I started and who I am becoming over time. It feels good and I feel really good; about the world and being alive. I am going to congratulate myself today by cutting the sleeves off of some shirts, eating a tempeh reuben, and blasting the world is with my windows down.
I look forward to the short term improvements and the long term benefits. PMA for life.

He may have left White Women, but he’s always family.
